Creating illustrations for children's books is such a challenge, there is so many great illustrators doing great work, that whatever you do has to sit on that crowded shelf and compete for the readers attention.
My work is created by hand using tradition techniques, ink, pen brush etc, then tossed into the computer to colour, layer and so forth for my client. Old school illustration, I hope in the best way showcasing my hand drawn illustration techniques with a little help from the computer.
I like to have fun with the line art, vary it a bit create a few splodges here and there, I've added one here to show a little of that effect, dynamic ink line, with brush and pen to create a visually arresting and interesting illustration that catches the eye of the passing by reader.
