Character Designs for The Sustainables Academy

Creating something new is always exciting for a creative so when I was approached to design a set of new characters for Louise and her Sustainables Academy schools resources I was very excited.

Commissioned to create a team made of individuals that each spoke for aspects of sustainability, the circular economy and the environment. The brief started with the task to imagine characters that would represent and talk about different materials, for example plastics, metals, glass etc. The characters were to look superhero like but without looking too physical. They were also asked to look diverse, hopeful and colourful, inspired by the look of 1990’s cell animation.

As with all my commissions, I send concept artwork which will show the initial visual penciled up, from here feedback and comments are added to subsqeunt drafts. Finished artwork is created by hand and emailed to the format your require.

Teachers, please also drop by the brilliant Sustainables Academy website for free to use school resources and more for leaners.
